One of the first things an aspiring writer is told is to "Write What You Know" and the second is "To
READ, READ, READ." As a professed Bookaholic, that second advice has never been a problem for
me! And when I became a Published Author, I still find the time to devour --- uh --- READ as many
books as possible.
Starting off with a new author (to me), is Ballantine Books February 2009 release of BLOOD
MAGIC by Jennifer Lyon. (ISBN: 978-0-345-50634-4). This is the first book in a new Paranormal
Romance series. In times past witches and hunters worked together to keep humans safe from the
demon world. A Curse changed all that between them and now the two groups are enemies. When
witch Darcy MacAlister is kidnapped by Wing Slayer Hunter Axel Locke in order to save his niece, the
sparks fly. A fast paced, page-turner, filled with passion and danger, this is sure to be a book
paranormal romance readers will love, and then eagerly look forward to the next in the series (Soul
Magic).
Best Selling author Mariah Stewart's books are always a great read. MERCY STREET,
(Ballantine Books, ISBN 978-0-345-49227-2) is fast paced, suspenseful, and at times even
gut-wrenching. Ms. Stewart can bring characters and the plots to vivid life, and this book is another
proof of that. Private Investigator Mallory Russo is called in to find answers on a killer mystery
involving children. Police Detective Charlie Wanamaker is called in to help. The attraction between the
two is electric, but the mystery is the main center of the story. Another DONT MISS for reader fans of
Romantic Suspense.
Listed as a Paranormal Romance, THE BETTER TO HOLD YOU by Alisa Sheckley (DelRay
Books, ISBN: 978-0-345-50587-3) is more on the darker side than most. Told in the First Person
Point Of View, this story revolves around the mysterious people of a rural town and the heroine's
adjustments to her "changed" husband -- after his return from a trip to Romania. Veterinarian Abra
Barrow's whole world changes, some of it not for good.
Announcing "The Secret is out!" .... Historical Romance Author Elizabeth Hoyt is "new"
Contemporary Author Julia Harper! Her second novel under this pen name, FOR THE LOVE OF
PETE is a very humorous, suspense tale that keeps you turning those pages. Under the Forever
Print of Grand Central (ISBN: 978-0-446-61918-9), this is one of those "I definitely recommend!"
books. Zoe Adler's is babysitting her niece while her stepsister is under the Witness Protection Plan.
But when the little girl is kidnapped Zoe jumps into action, finding herself in sudden close quarters with
the undercover FBI agent, Dante Torelli, who is chasing the kidnappers. Thus starts a wild romp of
madcap escapades, loads of humor, and of course lots of passion and suspense.
Erotic Romance Author Nicole Jordan's latest TO ROMANCE A CHARMING ROGUE (Ballantine
Books, ISBN: 978-0-345-51010-5) is the fourth installment of her series "The Courtship Wars". Hero
Damon Stafford has his hands full when he re-enters his former fiance's life and tries to win her back.
Sexy and beguiling he may be, but Eleanor Pierce is determined to hold Damon at arm's length until
she teaches him a seductive lesson he'll never forget.
Managing to be humorous as well as sexy, Contemporary author Leanne Banks' latest,
TROUBLE IN HIGH HEELS is a perfect example of this author's writing style. (Grand Central Books,
ISBN: 978-0-446-61174-9) When multi-wealthy socialite Lori Granger finds herself suddenly strapped
for cash --- after excessive spending and charities --- she panics. Enter financial advisor Jackson

Historical Romance Author Monica McCarty writes the most intriguing characters for her
Highland books. The historical atmosphere comes to life in the pages of her stories, and you can't
help but fall in love with everyone of her sexy heroes. For those readers who love getting lost in a
great book of the Scottish highlands, and Victorian era, is the series of three: HIGHLAND WARRIOR,
HIGHLAND SCOUNDREL, and, HIGHLAND OUTLAW. (Ballantine Books) Each book has a feisty
heroine, a sexy Highlander, and a story of passion and love that revolves around conflicts that seem
impossible to resolve. Get lost in these books; you won't be sorry! DEFINITE RECOMMEND!
