| CURRENT KARI'S KORNER REVIEWS: Its time for NEW REVIEWS! First I'd like to introduce a "new-to-me" author Ruby Moon-Houldson. I just read her Trilogy "MORE THAN ANGELS" and really enjoyed this unique Series. (ISBN: 1- 59824-415-9 Dec 2006) The trilogy has also won the Indie Excellence Book Awards. Focusing on heroine Thia DeNielly, it starts out telling about her rough, nightmarish childhood. The only way she could survive was to have faith in the protection and help of her "angel" hero. Grown, and now an FBI psychologist Agent, Thia realizes she has two heroes in her life; her childhood angel, and a newcomer. The Trilogy takes you through her trials of facing her past and learning to deal with those issues. And by her side, are the men, the heroes, that are --and have always been to her "more than angels". A beautiful Series, I would recommend to anyone. It has Romance, suspense, mystery, and very memorable characters. Romantic Suspense author Sandra Brown is an auto- read for me. LETHAL (Grand Central, ISBN: 978-1-4555- 0483-1, Sept. 2011) is a page turner, full of suspense. Honor and her daughter are kidnapped by a suspected murderer ---Lee Coburn --- and are the run while Lee tries to not only prove his innocence but also protect Honor and child from their past. Great, fast paced read! FALLEN ANGEL by Logan Belle (Aphrodisia/Kensington, ISBN: 978-0-7582-6161-8, Oct. 2011) is a sexually explicit story about a woman who lives two completely different lives. Mallory Dale works in a law firm by day. But by night she is a bombshell burlesque performer. Suddenly Mallory finds herself torn between two men: her boyfriend and her boss at the law firm. So now, all she has to do is decide WHICH lifestyle she wants to live permanently. Warning: VERY expicit scenes. Just in time for the Christmas Holidays is SILENT NIGHT, SINFUL NIGHT, (Aphrodisia, ISBN: 978-0-7582-6670-5, Oct. 2011) is a Erotic Anthology by Sharon Page, Melissa MacNeal, and Chloe Harris. Sexually Explicit, the stories center around Christmas themes in three different eras. The first is in Regency London. The second is in the Wild West. And the third is a Contemporary. Readers who like "hot spice" with their holidays will enjoy these three escapades. Also for the Christmas Holidays: UNWRAPPED (Brava, ISBN: 978-0-7582-5132-9, Oct. 2011) is a more "calmer" version of erotic love stories than the Aphrodisia lines. This Anthology has stories by Erin McCarthy, Donna Kaufman, and Kate Angell. Great reads to enjoy on a cold night all snuggled up with wonderful "hot" heroes! In a change of pace is, SAY YOU'LL BE MINE by Julia Amante (Grand Central, ISBN: 978-0-446-58163-9, Oct. 2011). This is a wonderful, emotional story. Isabel Gallegos is set to having her dream life. But fate has something else in store for her when her cousin (in Argentina) dies and leaves her guardian of three young children. Isabel life changes drastically from her pre-set plans ---- and now all she has to do is decide if she wants what Fate has placed in her path. Filled with humor, lots of emotion, triumphs and failures, and very memorable characters, this is a DEFINITE Recommend for any reader who loves those "feel-good" type of books. In the Historical genre: MY FAIR HIGHLANDER by Mary Wine (Brava, ISBN: 978-0-7582-4207-5, Aug. 2011) This author has a great talent in bringing to vivid life the Scottish life and scenery from that time period. Jemma is a very independent English lass who catches the eyes of Scottish Laird Barras (Gordon). When he has to rescue her from ruffians, Gordon takes her home and keeps her captive there in hopes that he can convince her to marry him. Two "independent, strong-willed" personalities clash ---and the sexual fireworks keeps the reader turning those pages. Never fear: it does have a HEA! Last but not least is from one of my favorite authors: Larissa Ione, IMMORTAL RIDER (Grand Central, ISBN: 978-0-446-57447-1, Dec. 2011). The second book in her "Lords of Deliverance" Series, about the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse, this one is about the only sister in the group: Limos. She has a pre-destiny as Bride of Satan and has been trying to avoid it for centuries. But enter hero Arik who kisses her at a party and then goes to Hell as punishment for it, and in order to save him Limos finds herself facing the one Being she's been hiding from: Satan. Now she has to face her love for Arik --and accept it, or give in and agree to be Satan's Bride. Ms. Ione is a fantastic paranormal romance author and this book is no exception.
